Overview
Diflucan (150 mg, 1 capsule) is a single-dose antifungal capsule containing fluconazole, used to treat a range of fungal infections including cryptococcosis and generalized candidiasis.
Key Benefits
Fluconazole works by inhibiting sterol synthesis inside fungal cells, and its effectiveness has been shown against yeasts and yeast-like fungi such as Candida and Cryptococcus neoformans, moulds such as Histoplasma and Blastomyces, dermatophytes such as Trichophyton and Microsporum, and dimorphic fungi such as Coccidioides. It is used for conditions such as cryptococcal meningitis, other cryptococcal infections, and generalized candidiasis, including candidemia and infections of the peritoneum, eyes, and respiratory or urinary tract.
