Composition
• Active ingredient
Fexofenadine hydrochloride (Fexofenadine HCL) — 180 mg.
Fastel 180 mg is a non-sedating second-generation antihistamine used for symptomatic treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria.
Pharmacological properties
• Selectively blocks H1-histamine receptors
• Reduces sneezing, nasal itching, runny nose, and tearing
• Does not cause drowsiness
• Begins to act within 1 hour, with maximum effect in 2–3 hours.
Indications
• Seasonal allergic rhinitis (including sneezing, itching, runny nose, tearing)
• Chronic idiopathic urticaria (itching, skin rash).
Dosage and administration
• Seasonal allergic rhinitis
Adults and children 12 years and older
Tablet: 60 mg twice daily, or 120 mg once daily, or 180 mg once daily.
For patients with impaired kidney function
60 mg once daily.
Children 6 to 11 years old
Tablet: 30 mg twice daily or 60 mg once daily.
• Chronic idiopathic urticaria
Adults and children 12 years and older
Tablet: 60 mg twice daily, or 120 mg once daily, or 180 mg once daily.
For patients with impaired kidney function
60 mg once daily.
Children 6 to 11 years old
