Composition ( per 1 tablet ):
Sitagliptin phosphate – 50 mg , metformin hydrochloride – 100 0 mg . Excipients : microcrystalline cellulose , hypromellose , povidone , magnesium stearate , silicon dioxide , film coating .
Description :
Gleptomet is a combination antihyperglycemic drug used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus . It contains sitagliptin (a DPP-4 inhibitor ) that increases incretin levels and stimulates insulin secretion , and metformin , which reduces hepatic glucose production and improves tissue glucose uptake .
Properties:
Lowers blood glucose through a dual mechanism of action .
Enhances insulin secretion in response to food intake .
Reduces glucose production in the liver and improves glucose utilization by tissues .
Helps manage body weight and reduces the risk of diabetes complications .
Suitable for long-term management of type 2 diabetes .
Indications for Use :
Type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet , exercise , and monotherapy with metformin or sitagliptin are insufficient .
As part of combination therapy for better glycemic control .
Method of Application:
Adults : 1 tablet once daily during meals with sufficient water .
Do not chew or split the tablet .
Dosage should be adjusted individually based on blood glucose levels and concomitant therapy .
If a dose is missed , take it as soon as possible but do not double the next dose .
Storage Conditions :
Store at +5°C…+25°C, in a dry place , protected from light and moisture .
